Dubai Post 84: Last Few Nights in Dubai

I could have not asked for a better ending to my trip over the last few nights.  Each day over the past three months has been a special experience however the last two nights were the cherry on top of the sundae for my Dubai trip.

Way back in May, I purchased my only living social deal for Dubai.  It was a voucher for 8 people to go on a yacht and sail around the palm.  Fast forward two and half months and I had still not used the voucher.  I put together a "skeleton crew" of some of my closest friends in Dubai and we sailed out on Tuesday night for my last real night of going out in the city.

Cruising away from the city skyline.

I could not have asked for a better night.  With the city skyline reflecting off the water, I shared a few drinks and laughs with some of the people I have become closest with.  I realized that it will not be good bye when I leave for the states this weekend.  It will be more of "Catch you later" as I have made life long friends over the past three months.

The guys.

As we finished our yacht cruise we then headed to The Address Hotel for some more drinks and shisha.  Since it was one of my last nights, the guys were up for a few antics.  We decided to jump in their infinity pool after hours, I  know, very rebellious of us.  It was as if I was joking around with people I had been friends with for years.  It was one of my favorite nights throughout the past three months in Dubai and I could not have asked for anything more.

Last night I was able to spend it with most of the Dubai office.  We first went out for a traditional Afghani meal.  I chose this over an American meal for obvious reasons.  We then shared a few drinks at the Yacht Club.  Once again I could not have asked for anything better.  I was able to spend time with some of the people I have worked closely with.  It is always nice to be able to do this outside of the office and get to get to converse on a personal level.

Most of our group on the boat.

It is the people that I will miss the most about Dubai.  I have met people from all over the world including India, England, Holland, Saudi Arabia etc…  They have each shared a little bit about their culture in which I will never forget as I head back to the States.  I know it will not be the last time I see all of them and will look forward to when out paths cross again.

**FYI this will not be my last post and I plan on doing a few “After the Fact” posts when I get back.
